Full Time 7 am -4 pm; with a 1 hour lunch
Wages Start At: $17.57 per hour
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Drive special education students, in district provided vehicle, to various locations in Yamhill, Polk, Washington, and Marion County.
- Scheduling special education district transportation
- Supervising students (recess, meals, etc.)
- Maintance of vehicle (wash, keep clean, etc.)
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Need a current Oregon Driver’s License,
- Need a current Type 20 Activity Bus certificate or be able to get one,
- Cleared through fingerprinting and criminal history check.
JOB DEFINITION
Under supervision, the Special Programs Driver/Educational Assistant performs a wide variety of instructional duties which include driving special education students, in district provided to various locations. Depending on their time they may help assisting the classroom teacher with the supervision and instruction of students.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Transporting special education students.
- Assists with the general supervision of students both inside and outside the classroom.
- Contributes to the student effectiveness by maintaining classroom discipline.
- Supervises students during recess, lunch periods, before and after school by keeping a safe and disciplined atmosphere on the playground, play area, the cafeteria, library, hallways and bus lines.
- Assists others in the matters of filing, sorting, data collecting and organizing materials.
- Fulfills other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Desired:
- Special Education knowledge and experience.
- Special Education student transportation experience.
- Flexible hours
- Get along well with students and families
- Dependable and conscientious.
