Be Part of a Different Kind of School
At Sheridan AllPrep Academy, we believe education should meet students where they are - academically, socially, and emotionally. We are reimagining school by combining flexibility, family partnership, and meaningful in-person connection.
We are seeking a Pod Mentor Teacher who is excited to step beyond a traditional classroom role and into one centered on relationships, mentorship, and whole-child support.
In this hybrid role, you will support K–5 students in a small, in-person Pod three days per week, where students engage in structured support, enrichment, and community-building. The remainder of your time will be spent working remotely to monitor progress, communicate with families, and plan learning experiences.
Pod Mentor Teachers reinforce learning rather than deliver full core instruction, helping students build independence, confidence, and strong learning habits.
What You’ll Do
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where students feel supported and connected
- Facilitate in-person Pod sessions focused on enrichment, study hall, and skill development
- Reinforce core learning in partnership with families, aligned with SHAPA’s model
- Support students in building independence, organization, and confidence
- Communicate regularly with families, including conferences, updates, and check-ins
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress, including attendance and required reporting
- Support IEP/504 plans by identifying student needs and implementing accommodations
- Supervise students across settings (Pod, virtual, and off-site activities) and maintain appropriate behavior expectations
- Collaborate with staff, attend meetings, and participate in professional development
- Follow all school policies and procedures while prioritizing student safety and well-being
